About John

My name is John Fisher and I am running for the Alabama House of Representatives for House District 63. I want to be your representative in Montgomery. As your legislator, I vow to represent all the people in our district and restore your confidence in our state government. I will focus my efforts on creating jobs, assisting small businesses, educating our children, protecting our families, balancing our budget, and mandating Christian-based ethics in state government. As a believer in democracy, I will fight for each citizen’s right to cast a vote on matters of great public concern.

I have been married to my wife, Jennifer, for over 15 years, and she is the Administrative Director at Tuscaloosa Ear Nose and Throat Center. She is also an incredible mom to our daughter, Emma Katherine, who attends Rock Quarry Elementary and is a competitive gymnast and dancer. Our family has worshipped at Calvary Baptist Church for over 15 years. Both Jennifer and I have taught Sunday School and I have served as a Deacon since 2002. I have also been an active volunteer at First Community Church.

We are proud to call Tuscaloosa our home. Our family enjoys attending Alabama football games and gymnastics meets. We also enjoy grilling-out with family and friends, as well as spending time on Lake Tuscaloosa. I am an avid outdoorsman. I enjoy hunting, fishing and target shooting.

I have been a member of the Tuscaloosa Rotary Club for 10 years where I previously served on the Board and served as the Adopt A School Chairman for six years. I am presently serving on the Board of Temporary Emergency Services of West Alabama and have done so for over 7 years, serving as President of the Board twice. I am also a member of the West Alabama Chamber of Commerce and the Tuscaloosa County Republican Executive Committee.

In 1997, I graduated from the University of Alabama School of Law. As an attorney, I represent individuals and family owned businesses. I have devoted myself to helping folks solve many different types of problems. As an attorney, I am also a small business owner and understand the challenges which we all face in these unsettled economic times. As a successful attorney, I have proven my ability to work with all kinds of people and get the job done for my clients. As your legislator, I will fight for each of you in the same way I would fight for you as my client.

I believe Alabama and America have reached a cross-road. Our state and federal governments are broken. Government should help people not control them. In these tough times, the best government stimulus for our families is to cut taxes and let working families decide how to spend their own hard-earned money. We don’t need government controlling our finances, our health care and our way of life.

Alabama needs legislators who believe that state government should serve the people. We simply can’t afford the price of political games and selfish politics. We must work together get back to basics to solve problems and lower taxes. We need make to Alabama an even better place for our families, our children and our grandchildren.

There is much work to be done. With your help and support, we will fix our state government and move Alabama forward. I vow to represent everyone in District 63 and to do only what is right for our community and our State.

Sincerely,

John Fisher
